Default Sorting by manufacturer in default

when clicking the manufacturer in the side box everything shows up for just that manufacturer. what i want to do is sort by thier model number. i'm guessing that i'm just missing something or overlooking an option somewhere but i don't know what.

    http://www.poweredbyford.com/store/i...facturers_id=2

this is showing everything by one manufacturer and i want to sort by the model number. i could do it everywhere else but for some reason i can't do it here.

    thanx for your help.

The Product Listing is set to sort based on the setting in Configuration ... Product Listing ...
Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
    Product Listing Default sort order?
NOTE: Leave Blank for Product Sort Order. Sort the Product Listing in the order you wish for the default display to start in to get the sort order setting. Example: 2a
However, what you want to do from the sound of things is change the sort order when a Manufacturer is chosen ...

You would need to modify the code to override the default setting when the manufactuer is selected ...

This can get trickie when this is done via Category ... then manufacturer is selected as the URL and paramaters change ...
manufacturers_id=2 would be filter_id if selected from the dropdown based on the Category being selected then filtered by manufacturer

There are filter files for managing the sort order and building the select statement in:
    /includes/index_filters/

    Look at how the: PRODUCT_LISTING_DEFAULT_SORT_ORDER

    is used in the default_filter.php
