Default AusPost shipping module returning wrong price?

Hi guys, I posted this in General Questions as well, but thought I might get some extra help here too :) I'll just cut and paste from that post:

I've been muddling my way thru zen-cart for the last week or so and have pretty much got my site looking the way I want to. However, there are a couple of issues that I can't seem to resolve, and I am hoping someone here can help me?

I've d/loaded the AusPost shipping mods and for some reason my PostParcel and ExpressPost are coming up with too much $$ on them. For instance, the PostParcel is coming up with around AUD$6.75 for the price of shipping, when it should really be only around the AUD$4.90 mark. Can anyone help me with this at all?

    My site is:

    www.nochiosnappies.com/store

    Thanks in advance!!!

Edited to add: I've changed the Tare weight to reflect 0:1, which seems to be the lowest setting I can get it on to reflece the lowest shipping price. I've tried 0:0, but that seems to break the code as it returns an error. Is there somewhere else I have to change the weight or something?

I fixed it. Just changed the Tare weight from 0:1 to 0:0.001 and it seems to be near the right price now. will keep tweaking it till I get the exact correct price.... unless anyone knows of an easier way?

im having the same problem. I add an item to the cart that weighs only 100grams, and when you click the aus post shipping calculator, they want $6.75! It should be more like $3-4

I tried your method, by making the weight of the product like this: 0:0.001.
All that changed was the weight in the dialog box saying it weighs 0kg, but they still wanted $6.75 for postage.

Any idea how to fix this? In the dimensions box of the auspost configuration, Ive got it set to 100x100x100 as my client doesnt want to have to measure every single package (as they will all be different, depending on combined shipping, so it must go by weight).

I again had to change my tare weight to 0:0.1, which has corrected the shipping amount to what I want.

I was also a bit confused, because I thought that AusPOST ParcelPOST was those red and white prepaid satchels? But it's not - it's just general cost of postage to post said item to said postcode, kwim?

So that's where I was getting confused.

    HIH a bit.

hmm, still not working. You mention you enter 'tare weight', although the box Im entering the weight ratio thing into just says 'weight:'. This is on the individual product entry page.

    Is that right?

The Tare weight is under 'Configuration' then click on Shipping / packaging. You'll find the settings in there.

I changed mine (for small packages - all my products are 100g or under, so I didn't bother with teh large packages) to 0:0.1 and that seemed to fix the problem :)
