I have searched the forums for this without any real results...

I would like to hide the price and ability to buy a few specific products until the customer has created an account logged in. I know you can set this up for the entire site, but this is also genneraly a bad idea for retailers.

We have several products that we sell well below what our manufactuers will allow us to advertise (their MAP price), and this is the best way I can see to get around this - show the price only to a customer that has created an account with us so that they are accessing prividleged information (this is not advertising) - Not all our products have MAP and not all our MAP policies are the same: all the MAP hacks that I have seen are unsuable by most of our MAP policies: email for price, price too low to show, add to cart for price... (they sure make it tough on us!)

I have even thought about setting up two identical sites -- one for regular products (set up as a normal store) and one for MAP products (set up that you can only see the price once logged in) and find a way to link the two... but this seems very difficult to even attempt (if not impossible - I'd have to try an find a way to share the shopping cart and the nav. menu... ) and to leave them disconnected would be discouraging to our customers (they would need two accounts and then place two orders... bad idea now that I think about it... but hopefully you get my idea)

Any ideas on hacks/mods that are out there or where I might start poking around would be a great help!
