image handler prob. with additional images

i tried to upload a new pic for one of the products on my website that already had a pic and when i did that the additional images displayed by image handler disappeared. i went to the image handler in admin/tools and they were present there but are no longer visible on this page

what happened and how can i fix it???
i tried to add another image to the image handler for that specific product and that didnt work either
please help!
