    Error(?) within table module

    This my test setup:

    shipping table: 5:5,10:10,20:20

    method: weight

    Handling fee: 2

    Max weight for package: 20

    Tare small: 0:1

    Tare large: 0:1

    Then I tested adding 3 products (q.ty 3 for the same product). The weight of 1 product is 7

    So total weight was 7+7+7+the tare of the package(s)

    I expected to have: 1 package (7+1 weight) at 10$ and 1 package (7+7+1) at 20$ Total expense: 10 + 20 + 2 (handling fee) = 32

    This is what I had: (2x11) in term of weight and packages so total expense was 20+20+2 = 42.

    First question: why it decided to break down my products? Well, more technically: isn't there a control to not to split products below their own weight?

    Second question: must I config something else or the script for splitting up products in packages lack of consistency? IE: It has no sense to have 2 packages of 11kg when I have 3 products each of 7kg. It should have been 1 package of 7kg(+tare) and 1 of 14kg(+tare) (according to the shipping table used above).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hmmm.... it seems to be really a bug.

    In shipping.php, function quote

    there's the code:

    Code:
          if ($shipping_weight > SHIPPING_MAX_WEIGHT) { // Split into many boxes
          $shipping_num_boxes = ceil($shipping_weight/SHIPPING_MAX_WEIGHT);
          $shipping_weight = $shipping_weight/$shipping_num_boxes;
          }
    The problem is this line:

    $shipping_weight = $shipping_weight/$shipping_num_boxes;

    It should be changed to take care of real weights of products. Well, do you think is possible?

    You set the max weight to 20, that is all the program knows - hit 20 and then do a new box.
