output orders into a txt file?

the above title is what i did a search on but found no adequent idea so hopefully someone can answer this question

the guy doing the accounts was asking whether it is possible for zen cart to produce a text file to be imported like an excel file? he was saying something bout say at the end of the day the webmaster or main admin person can be emailed one txt file which can then be imported into an excel file or something like that.

can this be done? im not that up on databases and whilst i know we have one i dunno how to isolate just the new orders made that day or what not.

If one only wants what the products ordered are they are contained in the `orders_products` table in the DB.

A script to export this table could be generated and manually run or chroned to run.

The export can be directly to an excel file where it could be parsed by order id. Other information is contained in other tables if these are required.
