Removing New Products

How can I remove the new products that appear on the main page?

Admin control panel -> configuration -> maximum values -> New Product Listing - Limited to ... voila. Change it to your desired setting.

While that does work ...

The better way is to turn off the Center Boxes for the New Products in the Index Listing so that it is not even looked at ...

0 means OFF be sure to turn them all OFF in each set ...

The main reason is the speed issue ...

Turning it OFF means ... don't bother to look ... don't run any code ... etc.

Any way to **** the "New Products" Box off for any page. Right now its showing up when you click on shopping cart and its empty. I dont want this box showing up at all if possible.
