How should I add products?

Using version 1.3.9 and would like to add products as described below:
1st -Select from 3-5 levels of product Category
2nd - Select from Manufacturers list (about 25-30 icons 1 icon per manufacturer)
3rd - Drop down lists of all items made by each manufacturer (hundreds in each list for each manufacturer) or Drop down lists of what machines they go in by machine number also hundreds of each. Need search capability for each with cross reference between the two.

How can I achieve this inside Zen Cart?

All of those filters are not part of the ZenCart distribution
You can add products to categories name for manufactures and link them to other categories

Your #3 item will require custom coding most likely adding a record or 2 to the DB table, to allow entry in the admin, to use this new info for selection by your customers

Possible but much more than can be solved in a forum environment
