    Default Removing account-required, easiest way?

I've done a search and found two topics, but none which were of any particular use to me - I'm quite new to this. I'm wondering what would be the easiest way to remove the requirement to have an account? I want to make the checkout process *way* quicker (it's an online flower shop offering local delivery), and bring down the pages loads.
    Are there any contributions available?
If not, can anybody suggest a way of, to start with, removing the requirement to create an account - as this simply will not be needed - and making the account creation page really just for collecting the shipping info and an email?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. The site is here.

Also, if this would be better suited / better off in another forum feel free to move it mods.
    Thanks
    Cian

The only thing that you can do is to limit the information required in your admin > config > customer information area.

Call it what you want but ZenCart will treat this as an account.

Hm yeah, thing is I don't mind how Zencart treats it - but I don't want people to be filling in the account info under the guise of creating an account, rather shipping info or something.
In my searching I've found a guy who has done it very well on a sample installation, I might PM him and ask him how... Here are the threads:

I guess remove the first section for "returning customers" on checkout firstly, and then remove the password field... That should about do it, right?
    Anybody?

Okay I've made some progress, made the login box less confusing. Can anybody tell me how I'd allow Zencart to make duplicate customers, by simply removing the thing that checks if the email has signed up before?
If this were done, would the customer database consist of duplicate entries, or would it overwrite the previous customer?
    Thanks.

You are well on your way to breaking the whole thing as ZenCart relies on this to controll sessions, orders, and a multitude of other things.

At first, wanting to change "login" to some other term alsong with other re-terming of items that would make it less intrusive was ok, but now you are attempting to remove the password validation and the walls will tumble.

Good luck and you can always reinstall

    Such a pessimist.

For now, I might leave the login page as I have it - sign up box on top, login box on bottom. But I don't see any huge problem with removing password validation. Granted I don't know the workings of Zen-cart as well as you do, however most of the customers to this shop would be once-off customers, very few (if any) would require an account.
Judging from the above topics what I want to do seems to have been done successfully before...?
