EZ Pages info?

Hey, folks.

Got a question for you all who know the program better than I do:

Can anyone explain EZ-Pages to me?

I know it's probably something simple, that I should just 'get'...but I can't find any info on it. Problem is, every time I do a search for "EZ Pages" in the forums, the search function erases the 'ez' part of it, because it's only 2 letters. So I get a list of posts containing the word 'pages' (which is essentially every single thread on all the forums).

Which leaves me right where I started.

(The Wiki doesn't seem to have any info on EZ-Pages, either.)

Do EZ-Pages in some way replace the part of the template overrides FAQ that deals with calling custom filenames & database tables, etc? (See? I'm telling you, I've just heard their name once or twice. That's all I can discern on them, at the moment.)

(SIDE NOTE: when I was looking at certain sections of the FAQ, I noticed that the code that was present in the original forum post has somehow disappeared. But that's another problem for another time).


Anyway, if someone can give me a brief overview of EZ Pages (their purpose, how they work, how to go about modifying them...anything else that might be pertinent), I'd really appreciate it.With the amount of customizing I'm trying to do, I'd certainly appreciate anything that goes by the moniker 'EZ'.

EZ Pages are Admin configurable extra content pages.

So, by 'extra content pages', do you mean they're similar to the 'Define Pages' feature? I was under the impression that the 'Define Pages' feature lets you do the same thing...but looking back at the Wiki, it seems the Define Pages feature is used for content chunks on a number of specific pages within the site...

So you can use EZ Pages to create additional pages, if you need them...and use the Define Pages feature to modify the specific pages below (from the Wiki)?

• conditions
• contact_us
• discount_coupon
• main_page
• page_2
• page_3
• page_4
• page_not_found
• privacy
• shippinginfo
• site_map

Is that right? You'd use Define Pages to modify the main page content, & EZ-Pages to add a FAQ, or a page to sign up for a newsletter, or something like that?

Or are they both two sides of the same coin? Can you use the Define Pages feature to do the same thing, by utilizing the page_2, page_3, & page_4 pages?

(Just trying to be sure what I should start using - my site is designed graphically, but now I'm trying to port it over to the right CSS & PHP pages in Zen Cart...).
