attribute error when adding to cart

Sorry, folks, I posted this thread in the page layout, in error.

FACTS:

currently using v1.3.0.1, recently installed improved attribute contribution

client sells wrought iron balusters, base price $10
different coating can be applied for extra charge.

I have set priced by attribute in add product to NO
I have created the option names, added values & images, set price to +3.75
set for diplay only YES per FAQ
attribute is free NO
apply discount YES
include in base price NO since the product is Not priced by attribute
attribute required for text NO

CONCERN:
product price is not showing
when i choose an attribute, and add product to cart, I get an error:

Please correct the following:
On the Option for: Powder Coating You picked an Invalid Selection: Silver Vein

QUESTION:

set for diplay only YES per FAQ

Not sure if you misunderstood the FAQ ... but Display Only means ... this attribute is for display purposes only and not allowed to be selected as a choice ...

This is good to use on things like:

Select a choice from below ...

But not allow a customer to add a Product with:
Select a choice from below ...

As their final choice ...

Can I ask another dumb question?

I posted this question in the layout section, but got no answers.

I want to change the layout of the product detail page. I want the text to wrap around the image, not start below the image. is this done in admin or do I have to reformat a coded page?

You would be customizing the template file and/or the stylesheet to change how a page displays ...

PS also, successful upgrade to v1.3.0.2 and got the friendly URL working, making progress.

The template file (depending on product_type) for:
/includes/templates/templates_default/templates/tpl_product_info_default.php

That gets copied to your templates and overrides directory ... then you alter how that data is displayed ...
