    Default adding sub categories

Can I add sub categories to an already-existing category of products? What I want is when the category is selected that the products are grouped by sub categories with subheads. How can I do this?

this is one of those posts that might attract some flame responses...

    did you try?

    admin/catalog/categoriesproducts/newcategory/newcategory etc.

The system does have issues with categories with products and subcategories, but you can have many branches to the tree...

I couldn't add a product to a category with subcategories but I COULD add a sub-category to a subcategory that had products...

I attempted to but couldn't figure out how to add a subcategory into an already existing category. Once I click on a category, it only allows me to add products. I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place or something is wrong with my admin (unlikely).

Categories hold Products or Categories hold Categories ...

They do not hold both at the same time ...

Due to the fact that this was a major pricing, search, etc. issue problem where people kept ignoring that fact ... in v1.3 it was introduced:

1 that once you add a Product to a Category .. the New Category button is removed ...

2 that once you added a Category to a Category ... the New Product button is removed ...

So I'm guessing the only way is to delete the products created, create the subcategories and reenter the products? Any less time consuming way, or is that my only option?

Make a Category where you are allowed to make a Category ...

Move the Category into the Category where you want the SubCategory ...

Move the Products into that Subcategory so everything will run correctly ...

How do I move a category into another? I tried dragging the folder into another but that didn't work. I can't finid any command that tells how to move it.

even though my first answer wasn't entirely correct...

admin/catalog/categories-products -- look at all the little buttons on the right under Actions

    C means copy (products)
M means move (categories and products)

from there you'll have several options
