Can I hide 80% of category pictures until the member has registered?

Hi guys,

I have noticed a competitor knocking off our products by visiting our website. Although I have not yet integrated my Zen cart store I intend to limit the photos of products on my old website and encourage visitors to instead enter the store to see the "entire collection" with prices.

However as it stands if someone were to visit my site they could see every product within every category, regardless of whether they are registered or not. (I have figured out how to hide prices so that's not the issue).

Is there any way I can show a user aprx. 5-10 items from each category and leave the rest off-limits until they register? In addition I would like to notify them that if they register they will see the full catalogue (so that they can know I have more than 5-10 items per category)

Hi Josh

Although I can see why you would want to do this, I personally think it would be effort and time wasted. The competitor could easily make a new account with false information to see all the photos, and continue doing what they've been doing for who knows how long. I'm sorry for not being able to provide info on how to do it, but I thought maybe you would want some info before starting a modification like that
