multiple attributes, one download

Seems a bit easy if it was a normal product. And the changes to price for each option I can understand.

Just wondering, how can I make a zip file product with two attributes (two options for the first and two options for the second) and have them define the file to be downloaded?

This is not different than shirts s,m,l and color red,white,blue.

You can load the demo products in another zencart instance with its own DB and see many of the attributes settings & cases in action.

Basicallyyou choose radio or dropdown)

option name = platform
option value = Win
option value = Mac

option name = version
option value = full
option value = light

this will produce the correct order, placing the correct download with the combinations might be another thing.

You might look to the cross sell mod in the download section and config this to provide the correct download when selected

I myself am faced with the same type of problem.
I wish to sell embroidery design files. The customer can choose
from 2 sizes and must also choose from 10 different formats.
Their choices would determine which zip file they would
receive after payment for download.

If I understand the reply to the original post, there is NOT
a way for this to be done in ZenCart??? If there is a way this can be done, could someone please explain in laymans terms How to set the attributes etc.. for this to work??

Easiest way is as kobra suggested i.e.

There is an option in admin to copy attributes across to your own items.

Ok I got it figured out. Will explain how I did it.
I made a new Option Name . Size & Format. (Dropdown)
I then set up option values. i.e. 4x4 VIP ( the size and format)
I then went into attribute controller and added each of my option values with the appropriate zip file in the download section.
I hope this explanation makes sense.

Seems so easy yet I spent the ENTIRE day and evening trying to

Ah, creating an option of two combined fields (e.g. Size + Format) may be the simplest method, but the main reason why I wanted these fields separated is to have it displayed two sets of radio/dropdown options in the shop rather than a long selection of combinations.

O Medium+TypeA
O Medium+TypeB

My idea:

O Small O TypeA
O Medium O TypeB

I understand what you are wanting. It is the same as I was wanting
on my site also. Unfortunatly I could find no way to make the 2 seperate attribute choices work. If you figure out a way please post
the how-to's here. I would still like to do the seperate choices but until
it is explained how I will just have to stick with the single dropdown.

For Download files ... you cannot make 2 separate Option Names for the Option Values as they are only really getting 1 filename out of a set of 6+ choices ...

You would want to make an Option Name as a Dropdown or Radio Button Type called something like: Version

Then Option Values that break down the separate, available Download formats:

Windows Full
Windows Lite
MAC Full
MAC Lite

Each would have the proper filename added to it ...

NOTE: it is recommended that Downloads be Zipped and contain no spaces nor special characters in the filename ...
