Thanks,
alhakeem2001, first of all you are welcome, we are here to help each other and encourage team work.
Yes, STOP translation, I am almost done 99%, and I did my best to be accurate and professional in my translation. and if you can't wait I can email it or PM to you, or wait until I post my finial one.I just downloaded a language pack for Dutch language and started to translate it to Arabic but as you went so far with the Arabic language pack I would stop editing mine pack, So I will just wait a couple of days for the Arabic language pack to gets ready! I hope so ;-)
my advice, I highly don't recommand this situation, you MUST know how to do these thing your self or by your freind, how to install it, charsets, how to delete/add databases, add/delete mods ..etc. it is not diffecult to learn them, you don't need to be a computer specialist to be able to manage these things, get your self familier with all these things and ask for help here when ever you need, that is the best way.I didn’t install it my self , I got it installed automatically off course with my permission after my registration to a new hosting server “dreamhost” so I don’t know even how delete the db and re-do the installation again using utf-8 general as the default charest for db.
the classic green is the Zen Cart offical default template, use it as a starting point to get to any another look, however, it is not a must, you still can use other free or paid templates, or ask a designer to make a fully customized one for you.About the template I have a lot remarks about it ! but would the new Arabic Classic Green template be totally different from the original one ? because with the original template comes with a white color which covers a big space of the page, it’s a bit too bright !
the Arabic Classic Green template i m doing is exactly the same as the english classic green, except that it will float from right to left, and language will be arabic, plus arabic buttons, no other chages will be made in colors or styles. because I want it to be an offical classic green arabic
yes it is, you need to know about css edit, if you don't search this forum. Is your template editable ? Is it ok that I’m asking too much
it is ok, ask what ever comes to your mind, but I will reply when i have time, or maybe other may help you
I don't think so, they will not announce such thing as news or something, just keep checking the downloads section language packs, it should go alphabitcally the first one. Finally, how would I know that the final Arabic language pack with it’s template has been released out ? is there a way to get notified by Email or SMS for example
-------------------------------------------------
Q1 - did you use the template i attached, did it work?
Q2 - you said all charsets are sat to utf-8, is your problem solved, i still see strang symbols next to one the arabic category name?
it is not slow, its ok with me, I use DSL connection 256 kbps, maybe you are using dail up!!
there are many factors that may effect performence:
1) quality of hosting server.
2) no of products.
3) images and buttons sizes
4) configurations: this will help (disable products counts in categories menu, disable manifacturers side box, enable gzip compression, and others options)
Any good news about the Arabic language and template Pack ? Is there an approximate date for the pack's release?![]()
Hey Yabora, It has been long ago since you sent your last thread here, I hope you are OK, aout the Arabic language I still can fix this problem to desplay the Arabic fonts in the right way as it still shows the fonts in funny way ! " كبه ح" I set the font in the database to " utf-8" and in all arabic.php by admin side and by the user side, would the new arabic language and template fix this problem or still I need to modify some arias within the Arabic.php ?
alhakeem2001,
I M sorry for the delay, all files are translated except one file
\arabic\modules\payment\paypalwpp.php
which you might don't need, I will try my best to release it today 3rd Dec 2007 afternoon like 17:00 GMT+4
note that the translation I have done so far is for the store front only, not for the admin control panel.
but this is just the start, there are a lot to be done.
but I m starting a Project ( Zen-Cart Arabic Full Pack ), the Project will include:
1. Store Front Arabic Language Pack (ANSI)
2. Store Front Arabic Language Pack (UTF-8)
3. Admin Area Arabic Language Pack (ANSI)
4. Admin Area Arabic Language Pack (UTF-8)
5. Classic Green Arabic Template + Buttons.
6. Classic Green Arabic Admin Area Template + Buttons.
7. Arabic User Manual.
But I can not do all this by my self, I need help ... I hope other users will cooperate.

I m assuming that your db is utf-8aout the Arabic language I still can fix this problem to desplay the Arabic fonts in the right way as it still shows the fonts in funny way ! you are typing category names using zen-cart admin control panel, but are you sure you are entering charactors in utf-8. in another way, when you are in the catalog page where you write cat. name in arabic, check the page encoding, right-click on any empty space within the page an select encoding, what is the default encoding you are getting, is it utf-8?
if not, then just for testing purpose, change the encoding (force it) of that page to utf-8, and then type the cat. name in arabic, and save, and then check your store.
hope this will help.
I have added the arabic language pack

Other issue raised up here! first forget about the problem of showing the Arabic fonts because it has been solved, the new issue is, I tried to open my website "the Arabic language " in Internet explorer it works ok without changing in directions within the template but when I did that in Opera, it shows the Arabic language and the template fliped all boxes arround as it should do in the Arabic language websites , amazing! Why in Internet explorer doesn't do the same ?
