Backup My SQL Utility - can't restore

Good evening all,

I religiously backup my files using the Backup My SQL contribution, and never get any errors.

However, when testing a new contrib, some things blew up so I went to my handy backups, but - although it said backup was successful, the touched files still indicated they were from the installed contrib.

Any suggestions please? Is there a place on the forum where I can download originals of certain files?

The Backup MySQL is only backing up the database ...

If you changed files, you would need to restore them from your file backups or you can reload them from a clean Zen Cart Zip ...

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

What add-on did you use?

Hi Ajeh - hope all is going better in your world. Good to see you back.

Im on 1.3.0.1 - didnt' realize it only backed up the db. I manually commented out the lines admin/customers.php that referred to the contrib.

It is the new How Did You Hear About Us contrib . There aren't any install notes - I wondered where the values for the dropdown would be populated from, but didn't see any notes regarding it so I thought there were some generic defaults.

After uploading and testing - the account creation page choked and there were errors looking for something in the db that I assume were the values needed. Then the Customers Page in Admin choked.

I re-uploaded clean files (I was just missing customer.php - but that's the one I manually modified).

Bummed - I was really looking forward to this enhancement.

Note: v1.3.0.2 is now out ... you should upgrade to this ...

Also, I thought I recently saw an upgrade to v1.3.x for that add-on ...

I know I should upgrade - after reading teh forums I think I've customized in bad places - I want to make sure I don't overwrite important modifications. So on I go to more researching the Forums & FAQs.

This add on has a date of 6/30 I believe - I just downloaded it this evening.

You might look into Beyond Compare by scootersoftware.com

I can compare the files from one version to the next or from one template to another to see what changes have been made ...

In addition, it allows for an FTP compare from the files on your computer to the files on your website when hunting down those elusive ... what the heck did I break today? issues ...

There are quite a few fixes in v1.3.0.2 that would really be a good idea to upgrade as soon as you can ...

Remember: Backups are your friend ... so are test upgrade sites and databases
