Error Messages before install

Hello,
Thanks in advance to those that help. I got 3 error messages. I followed the directions, changed the chmod for the folders specified. When I attempt to start the install, i get these error messages:

For a host, I am using BlueHost. This is what they have:
PHP version 4.4.2
MySQL version 4.1.20-standard-log

Sounds like a bad upload of files ...

Reload the software to your site ...

I re-uploaded them (this time one directory at time) and i'm getting the same messages:

Just to recap what I did:
1. uploaded folders to public_html/catalog
2. renamed the dist-configure.php files in both directories and changed the chmod to 777
3. changed the chmod to 777 on all the mentioned folders

What exact version of Zen Cart are you using and what is the name of the Zip?

zen-cart-v1.3.0.2-full-fileset.zip

Have you done anything at all with this or is is 100% new install?

IF this is a 100% new install and not an upgrade ... as in you never tried to use this directory in your life ...

Rename on your server the directory /catalog /catalog_BROKEN

Now remake the directory /catalog

Be sure to refresh your FTP program so that you see an empty /catalog

Next, reload all of the files once more ...

What are you using for FTP?
