spaces

There are spaces between the boxes between Categories and Hot pre-orders (was Specials...until I changed it) in the left hand column. There is also a space before categories. All these are on the left side, while the right side has no spaces between the boxes. How can I get rid of these spaces?

Also let it be known that I'm just starting to use Zen Cart, so I'll probably have a lot of questions. Also, I'm designing the web site on my home computer, so I can't give links to anyone who would like to see what I'm doing. For now this is great, since it looks awful compared to some of the web sites I've seen that use Zen Cart. I'm just getting the layout together, the pretty stuff comes later.

Can anyone help me with the space issue?

Check your stylesheet for margins in the column.

If you are using zencart 1.3.x with a NEW shop, you should be using only 1 stylesheet. If you are using stylesheets NEW and Original please search here for the term template_default and read the reasons that one should not be progressing forward with this setup.

You can then check the wiki and FAQ's for making your own template. This will pay you dividends into the future for a bit of time invested now in getting setup correctly.

I am only using one stylsheet (stylesheet.css). There are two other stylesheets that the directions told me to place in the folder. One is for buttons (stylesheet_css_buttons.css) and the other printing, I guess (print_stylesheet.css). Right now I just want to concentrate on getting the store to look the way I want.
