Question on page layout changes

I would like to ask what is the different of

tpl_checkout_payment_default.php

and

tpl_checkout_payment_address_default.php



I found that there are many many similar name pages under templates folder and there content are naerly the same.

Can anyone teach me about thsi machenism?

I ask because I will like to customize the pages of checkout procedure.

I don't want to get mess up before I know how it is working.,

One is the checkout payment ... the other is the checkout payment address ...

Checkout Payment allows you to select your Payment information ...

Checkout Payment Address allows you to change your Payment Address information ...

does it mean the address shown in Checkout Payment is loading from Checkout Payment Address?
or they are independent?

what else is related with checkout procedure?

Any link you click on ... produces an URL ... in that URL is the filename that is running ... that filename will have various peices and parts in it ...

But, that would be a starting point ...
