Cart contents not passing to Shared SSL

I setup the cart using a shared security certificate. Worked FINE. Just updated from shared hosting to Virtual Dedicated Server with SUPPOSEDLY the same configurations, paths etc. Everything works... HOWEVER..

Now suddenly with no changes to the admin area the cart no longer passess the contents over to the SSL when a customer clicks the checkout button. Tracks purchases fine right up until you check out and it passes you to the SSL and says CART EMPTY.

If you go back to the cart (off the secure server) it still knows your contents.

Any ideas?

Does the hosting company still allow you access to the shared SSL server now that you are dedicated?
Are your configure.php paths to your SSL "https:/your_domain.com" or "https:/some_secure_server.com"
