SSL Problem - Modify tpl_footer with exceptions?

You could try placing the following code around your image(s)

<?php
if ($_SERVER['SERVER_PORT']=='80') {
?>

Your image(s) URL(s)

<?php
}
?>

Or you could create a new banner in admin -> tools -> banner manager and turn them off where it says Banner on SSL
