    Default Multiple servers

    Hi!

My ZC is growing alot and I'm starting to see some performance issues.
Therefor I am about to set up a second server hosting only the images directory.

Anyone who already done this and managed to get it to work..?

Do you have an URL that we can peek at to see why you believe you need a new server?

Often performance issues are the result of configuration issues or the original server and usually should be looked at before jumping into something new without a peek around at the causes ...

Thank you for the reply, not what I asked for though. I've taken the server down for mantenance, so there is no point in posting the URL. The thing is that my images directory is growing to be over 2GB and I'm positive that that is the cause of the performance.

I'm using Products image manager to rebuild the files so large files is not an issue.
I'm listing 200 products on each page, this has to be this way since I have so many products and I know from my own experience that going through page after page isn't that amusing.

Note: This is something I wan't to implement even without performance problems, it just gave me a good reason to start the process of doing it.
The main reason is that hosting companies fee's for disk space and traffic sucks so I wan't to host the images directory on my own server and I cannot host the actual website on this server due to agreement with ISP, easier to sneak around if it only contains images..

When I was having performance issues, I moved my site to a server in the USA - faster and 1/3of the price

    Svanis,

I know this isnt an answer to your question but I have clients with well over 2 GB of images,
closer to 16 GB of images.

its not going to make the page load faster to have the images hosted remotly, its actually slower.

your major issue is the 200 items per page.
I dont know what your products are but wouldnt it be easier to drill the categories a little more and have less items per page?
