Modifying the Breadcrumb

I would like to modify the breadcrumb displayed for certain pages. TO give you an idea of what I want to acheive, I have a number of custom pages in a 'jewelry education' section on my site. Right now the breadcrumb looks like this

home :: (Education Page)

I would like to add an extra level to the breadcrumb so it looks like this

home :: Education :: (Education page)

AND I want the added sublevel (Education) to be a link.

BTW, I'm using 1.3+.

Have you looked into the Product Type: Document General

These can have their own sidebox and work like Cateories/Products but the difference is they are text ...

I guess that would be the easiest way to do it, except I already have the pages created and finished, but I'll see.
