Group Discount - How to NOT apply other discounts?

I have a similar problem. I am a wholesale company and my international distributers allready get a discount, however my retailers here in the states get discounts based on the amount that they spend for example if they spend 1,000 they get an additional 5%, $2000 6% and so forth. Is there any way to set this up automatically? Right now I have the retailers put codes in for each level but I would prefer it to be automatic.

I have found this thread to be very interesting. I have a different problem in my store.

I am trying to sell gift certificates (wonderful feature ) but would like anyone in the 5% club to not get a discount on the gift certificate, as this would potentially cause a double discount on a purchase. ie., Buy a gift certificate for 50 dollars, get a 5 percent discount, then purchase something with the gift certificate for $50 dollars and receive a 5 percent discount again.

Is there a way to limit the Group Discount to not be applied to a product, or am I thinking of this the wrong way?

If your Gift Certificates are setup properly, no discount will be applied ...

Gift Certificates need to be marked:
Product is Virtual: YES

And the model number must start with:
GIFT

The GIFT must be in all caps

This is not built in to Zen Cart at this time, you would need to customize the code to manage it ...

If anyone of you do this type of thing please contact me with apx how much it will cost. I really want to set this up. I am hopeless with anythig that I cant just choose a button for. And honestly dont have time to try to figure it out.

Hi, I read all this thread and there is no solution to the problem.
I am ready to pay for a mod.
I want three simple thing:
T

1. he ability of selecting if a group discount applies on base price or base price plus promotions, sales, or both.
2. The abilty of connecting a discount code to a customer so that the same code can not be used by a different customer.
3. The ability of showing discounted prices to a customer owning a discount code when logged in.
