Advice please! Which MySql and Which PHP

Hello

before I install Zen-Cart upon my server service, could I ask for some advice, as to which versions would be best suited to the needs of the software, Zen-Cart, and my needs to use it as a general store upon the web.

My provider (Hosting Service) allows for the selection of either version 4 or 5 of MySql.
And selection of version 4 or 5 of PHP.
Before using their panel to make a new database, I hope a kind soul upon the forum, may point me in the best direction.

thanks for the reply "TheOracle" although I had read that FAQ before.

I was hoping for some feed back from people who had used "MySql5" and "PHP5" with their "Zen-Cart" powered Shops and Stores.

Before I install myself, as it always appears, to use the most current versions of any software is a good idea.

My advice is to use the most up to date versions of PHP 4 and MySQL 4

There are people who always try to use the most up to date versions of everything, and they are the people whose websites fall over. Don't be first in the rush to try something new, let someone else do it and get burned, let the bug fixes and security patches be applied, and then use them.

PHP 5 is pretty stable now, but I still wouldn't touch MySQL 5.
