checkout is just a blank page

hello,

I am having trouble with the checkout. it worked fine earlier this week, but now it is just a blank white page. any ideas?

it is blank in firefox, but in IE it gives the "this page cannot be displayed" message.

also the shipping estimator is doing the same thing

Have you tried restoring a backup of those files? Also check your modules directory for missing or corrupted files.

not yet because that will cost money...but i did look at the files and cannot figure out why they are not showing up.

i would think that at least something would show up..the header or an error message.

I guess i will try to restore the backup soon if nothing else comes up

ok i restored the backup and that worked!!.......

until i checked it again and it seems that everytime i add something to the cart I have to click "checkout" then it goes to a blank page and then i click "back" and then "checkout" again and it works.

has anyone ever heard of this? having to click checkout twice?

I had the exact same problem after I installed the 3.5 version of the super orders contribution to the new 3.6 zen-cart loaded from scratch.

This is how I fixed it. I was playing around with admin -> tools -> layout boxes. I selected the sideboxes/shopping_cart option, then set it to "single column status" = "OFF".

Once that was done, everything worked perfectly.

I am not as good at code as many of you guys, so maybe Dr. Byte or someone could give a better reason for this or put it on the bug status list.
