css help...getting drop down menus centered

Ok...now that I sort of have drop down menus like I want I have 2 final issues...

1) How do I get the overall header menu centered in the browser?

2) In IE, dropdowns appear to the right of the parent rather than underneath. This was addressed in the code I modeled this menu from http://www.htmldog.com/articles/suckerfish/example/

However, as you can see in their example, the solution didn't work as it should. Is there any way to overcome this in IE? Looks fine in FF.

I've been doing some more reading and came across something that said to put the entire thing in a container then center the container. Anyone know how to do that?
