Attribute String in Shopping Cart Product URL

This is a more advanced config question:

Is there any way to turn off or remove from the code the attributes string that gets attached to the product url to the products that are added to the shopping cart (referring to the product url that appears to the right of the image in the shopping cart page)? I understand the purpose this serves, but right now the Ultimate SEOs mod is breaking it because of something with my custom product types, and right now the link just redirects to the main page. I would at least like to allow the customer to return to the product page, even if the attributes are no longer selected.

To find out more of what's happening, you might try:
Admin->Configuration->My Store->Missing Page Check .... set it to Off

Then again the SEFU module might be overriding that too, in which case your rewrite rules need to be updated to work with your custom product type.
