New UK Zen Convert ???

Hi to everybody,

After struggling for a while with osc ms2.2 i have recently discovered zencart. It's fairly obviously streets ahead in functionality, but i would welcome feedback from Uk users re any issues i might face with payment modules or whatever esle may be relevant.

I want to make a final decision on which cart to go with and stick with it. Have spent weeks on a project for someone who is a customer and a friend, thinking i would be live by now (stop laughing!) and need to realy motor on as i now have a backlog of work and an unsympathetic bank manager.

OSC is the devil I know at the moment and may have to go live with it just for the sake of speed and deadlines. Is the conversion to Zen at a later date relatively painless.

Hopefully this will answer some of your questions:

There are numerous payment/shipping modules available to support UK sites. It really depends on your bank and carrier arrangements. There are also prepackaged zone/template configurations to make store setup somewhat faster.

Converting data from an OsC site is becoming increasingly more difficult as Zen Cart grows quickly into more features and functionality, not to mention security.

But, the best decision for you "today" is the one that gets you up and running and making money as close to the timeframe your business needs. If your timeline can afford the delay to switch to another program, you may find it worth the effort in the long run. It's all up to you !
