new account - required fields

Hi i was wondering if there was an easy way to select which fields are required upon creating a new account. i know in the admin you can select to not show certian fields but i want to keep the state/province field just make it an un required field. if that makes sense.

thank to anyone that can help.

P.S. i think zencart is an excellent cart and compared to others ive used/seen its far better than any of them.

Yes, it is possible
You would have to make changes in
\zen\includes\modules\pages\create_account\header_php.php

I ended up searching for the field name and just commenting out each occurance as it appears in a few different locations. but cheers for giving me a good place to start !

Make sure you test it thoroughly because there are lots of dependencies involved and you never know when your cart start to behave badly!
