    Loading Images..

I'm trying to add images to new product range. Per support I've uploaded the files via FTP into their corresponding small/med/lrg directories but my site is not calling the images. They are all correctly named and in the correct folder but not showing up on the site. What do I do next?

Also is there a way to preveiw the whole page without having to go live for a second while you review your changes?

    Thanks in advance,
    Michelle

Do you have an URL to a Product where the images are not working and the exact image names that you are using?

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately you're talking to a newbie and I don't quite understand the question. I loaded the images via ftp to my site with the exception of one which was loaded via "product info' page in admin.

You loaded an image on the Product page ... what was its full name and where do you think you loaded it? If you look on your web site ... where do you see the image?

You uploaded more files with FTP

What are the filenames? What are the exact locations you loaded them to?

ANSWER: Well, all the images were loaded to my server - there are 10 in total. The first image i loaded through the admin. The remaining 9 were loaded throught the control panel provided by my hosting company. 3 images made in small, medium and large sizes with the exception of the first image, a thumb for the main catalog page. The names of the files are Brazilian_curly_1_lrg.jpg (or BC 2.med.jpg...ect)

If you look on your web site ... where do you see the image?
ANSWER: There is page on my site that shows all the products from a single collection. When a client clicks on the product they're interested in it goes to that page where they'll find the "med"images that are clickable pop-ups that show the "lrg" images. That first image, a thumb, shows up on the main page from that collection (that's correct) but it also shows up where the "med" images should show up and none of the other images show up.

You uploaded more files with FTP

What are the filenames? What are the exact locations you loaded them to?
ANSWER: Under file manger I loaded them to subfoldersin the 'images' folder on my site. (www.../images/large or /images/med depending on the file name). The way my designer set it up the small images just went into the general "Images" folder

Do you have an URL to a Product with images not working right?

What is this Product's products_image name?

What are the names of the other images?

Where are they on the server?

Be very specific or we cannot help figure out what you did wrong or if this is a permissions issue etc.

Are you using _LRG and _MED or _lrg and _med

    There is a difference ...

    All are case specific ...

    I can see:
    http://naturegirl.net/images/Brazilian_curly.jpg

    I cannot see
    http://naturegirl.net/images/large/B..._curly_LRG.jpg
    http://naturegirl.net/images/large/B...urly_1_LRG.jpg

    Do a search on:
    images/medium

I have a ton of posts on how to setup the images and the patterns to use ...

There is only 1 medium image per product ...

It looks like naming or permission issues ...

Either you are not naming the images correctly or you do not have the right permissions

The directory for /images and all subdirectories need to be 777

ANSWER: Based on what you're saying it sounds like a naming issue. But all the names are lower case. Are you saying I need to change that? For example 'Brazilian_curly_1_lrg.jpg' should be changed to 'Brazilian_curly_1_LRG.jpg'?

    http://naturegirl.net/images/large/B..._curly_LRG.jpg
    http://naturegirl.net/images/large/B...urly_1_LRG.jpg

ANSWER: The images on the site are named as I list. They are all lower case. When I click on a link for a specific image in the control panel the browser displays the image. This suggests that the image is there but, for some reason not being called by the cart.

    Do a search on:
    images/medium
ANSWER: I'll seach this site for those threads.

I have a ton of posts on how to setup the images and the patterns to use ...

ANSWER: I only have one size per image name.

It looks like naming or permission issues ...

Either you are not naming the images correctly or you do not have the right permissions
QUESTION: I'm pretty certain I have the right permissions but how do I check?

The directory for /images and all subdirectories need to be 777
QUESTON: This was the "tutorial" given to me by my designer. I followed it to the letter. Perhaps there is something incorrect here:

Here is a tutorial I wrote about this:

You will need three versions of each product image.

    Small images:
in shop: thumbnail on catalog pages
    directory: images/
    name: image.jpg

    Medium images:
    in shop: product description page
    directory: images/medium/
    name: image_med.jpg

    Large images:
    in shop: larger image popup
    directory: images/large/
    name: image_lrg.jpg
    Adding images to a product

    1. Make your three main images (as detailed above), along with any alternate images (see below).
    2. Either create a new product or edit an old product.
    3. On the product info page, hit the "browse" button to grab your small image. Leave the pulldown set to "main directory."
    4. Now go into FTP and upload the medium image to images/medium, and the large image to images/large.
