Default Adding product options in the cart?

Once the customer chooses the product, they have to choose from other options, like fabric and colour.

They select basic attributes in the product page, like whether the item is in one of three categories, then they 'add to cart'.

Once the item is in the cart, I would like the customer to choose more speciffic attributes, such as the colour and fabric.

I want this in the cart and not the product page, because I don't want too may pull downs in the product page.

Any idea how I add attributes to the Shoping Cart page?

You know that you can have more than just dropdowns for your options- infact when picking color and fabric it would be a good idea to have some swatches pictured- Pleanty of room and no confusion if they are on the product details page.

There are hundreds of colour and fabric options, which are all shown on a fabric gallery.

The options I have in the product listing is three fabric price categories: Fabric, Leather and Fancy Leather.

Once they pick from the three, they add the product to the cart.

From there, they somehow have to pick from about 5 different fabric types (silk, brocade, satin, etc), with about 10 different colours each. Or three fancy leather categories (patent, embossed, etc.) with four colours each, or 10 regular leather colours.

This would mean about 10 additional options in the actual product page, which would clutter it far too much.

Idealy, I would like them to select from the three material price ranges, then go to the cart and pick from the more specific menu, like which fabric and which colour.

    Does that make sense?

Attributes (like color or pattern) can have an image associated with each choice.

You can upload them in the admin > Catalog > Attributes Controller.
