Disabled PHP Functions

Dear zen.cart users,

I installed Zen Cart in my server, and I obtained the following restrictions :

# Disabled PHP Functions = set_time_limit,passthru,exec,system,popen,shell_exec,proc_open

# MySQL Version = Unknown

I already contacted my Hosting provider but it seems that these restrictions are common for all providers, so I can never modify PHP.INI.

Please tell me what can I do because when I enter my admin window

, I have this error :

Warning: main(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/includes/autoload_func.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/www/d71130090ee95244a9a8bcb889a5b044/:/tmp) in /home/www/d71130090ee95244a9a8bcb889a5b044/web/store/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 145

Please help,

Common? Perhaps, but not to ALL providers. You might want to have a look at the Zen Cart Certified Hosts.

Re: Disabled PHP Functions

Kim's right -- those restrictions DO exist on some hosting accounts where hosts have to be over-conscious of security issues due to the types of customers they have or due to frequent hack-attempts. Both of these reasons are GOOD reasons for you to MOVE somewhere else. If your host is a high target for hackers, you don't want your store on their servers. Period.

Further, as Kim mentioned, there are many good hosts which work very well with Zen Cart, in our Recommended Hosts section.

As to the errors you're getting, I suspect there's a problem with your /admin/includes/configure.php ... and that perhaps there are blank paths in there which should be set with more detail.

Can you please post the contents of your configure.php files without passwords?

Re: Disabled PHP Functions

While it appears that you've got things working, I just wanted to comment on the original issue. The admin/includes/configure.php file you posted is a supplied file.... and not one that contains your site's customized settings which are generated by the zc_install setup process.

Using the supplied dist-configure.php file as a configure.php file but without running the zc_install/index.php to do the "install" and update those configure.php files, you'll naturally end up with the errors you described.
