fedex module broke

Hi all,

My fedex module (on a site I inherited, undocumented) zencart 1.2 is breaking when I try to:

A. checkout
error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/restore/clients/proproductsandmore.com/www/zen-cart-v1.2.1d/includes/modules/shipping/fedex1.php on line 79

B. Try to delete/manage the module in admin panel
error:

I've been reading for hours, should I:
a. attempt to reinstall the fedex module (where can I find that, merlin?)
b. keep chasing code for hours
c. other slick hack that I would be eternally grateful for :)

Any suggestions would be great (I own the server, so I can hack whatever I need to), everything on the site's cart works, but the whole thing stops when you try to checkout because (?) of this module.
