Migration Issues

I currently run a Zen Cart at www.world-motorsports.com/store that has major issues. It seems that whenever anything has changed, the cart no longer allows the user to checkout or other errors are presented. It runs on 1.2.7, so after the latest failure, I decided to start from scratch.

Our database contains over 5000 products. Only a handful are active because we sort of changed our business model. I'm guessing that may be one issue that the store is having. I created a new database, and uploaded 1.3.0.2 to a new folder and installed. I do not plan on migrating anything from the old database over. I will manually inform our customers that they must re-register, and I will manually add in the few active products that we have just to keep everything fresh.

The problem I'm having is migrating the layout to the new store. I read some guides, and so far everything seems to have worked except for the front page. It can be viewed at www.world-motorsports.com/wmstore . I have poured over the new CSS file and am just completely lost. Why is my header and main page getting so out of whack?

Being that you are starting from scratch as you posted, you should start with a template based on the template_default file set over the 2 stylesheet classic one that you are currently using. These things can be fixed with this template but at every corner you will be chasing things through the 2 stylesheets attempting to determine which one is causing what you don't want.

There are many threads about template_default that you can read

I don't know how many customers you have but would also copy the DB over so as not to lose their information,,,but this is your call.

I did some reading, and found it was much better to base the new template off of the template_default directory. Great so far, except I can't get my store to align center. Width is set to 760 pixels, I do not want it to span the entire width of the page. Link is at www.world-motorsports.com/wmstore

Okay, so the best I can tell from searching is that the store is SUPPOSED to be centered by default. I don't know why mine is going to the left. I'll attach my stylesheet.css for you guys to look at, maybe you can see what's going on.
