Default Define Pages Editor - define_main_page.php

I have been updating our shop index page by going from the menu

    Tools - Define Pages Editor - define_main_page.php

just to make a few changes in the middle of the page.

But recently, these SAVE, RESET, CANCEL bottons have gone into the editing box there so I seems no longer to be able to update anything for this page.

I don't know why this happened, but I was trying to copy some codings from other software into this editing box, and then suddenly this problem occured.

To make things worse, the layout of the index page has gone completely strange.
Fortunately, this is happening to only index page and other pages seem to be working in order.

Has anyone come accross the same problem before?

    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

Which version of Zen-Cart are you using ?

Are you using the overrides in order to edit these pages ?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I am bit embarassed to say but not sure what version of Zen Cart vertion we are using nor what override means.

Unfortunately, the guy who set up online shop for us we can not contact to ask these things and I am not good at coding or .php files!

If you could tell me where I can check the version of it and what override mean, I can have a look at it and hopefully give you the information you need.

I appreciate your advice and thank you for your comment in advance.

    Donkey -

To see which version you are using go to your zen admin area and click on tools/server info.

To find out about the over rides, you would look at your file structure - since you are working on the define pages the files you are looking for are in :

    includes/languages/english/html_includes

If you ARE using the over ride system correctly, you will find a folder inside html_includes that is YOUR_TEMPLATE (whatever the folder name is for your template) that would be your over ride folder .

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Tina S.

Yes, I found the verion of Zen Cart in Tool menu which is "Zen Cart 1.2.4.1" and also the folder (we named it "Classic") in html_includes folder.

There is a file also called define_main_page.php in html_includes folder as well as in Classic folder.

What do I need to do now?

Thank you for your help in advance.

    1. the form buttons likely moved as a result of you attempting to insert other form elements into your define_main_page editing window ... esp a <textarea> field.

    2. If you "must" use a textarea field, you will likely need to edit the file manually, outside Zen Cart, and upload it.
    In your case, this is:
    includes/languages/english/html_includes/classic/define_main_page.php
