Sorting customer name crashes admin

When sorting on customer first name in ascendiing order in admin, upon pressing Asc you find yourself promptly back at the log in page. Loging back in, retrying successfully sorts and does not crash. This is not immediately repeatable. To duplicate the problem, I log in from another computer, attempt to sort ... crash. Then login again and the sort works fine.

I was in 'final' testing before going live. This 'instability' makes me nervous, but I don't know how to proceed diagnostically.

Any ideas?

Upgrade via fresh install, database upgraded from 1.25 to 1.3.02.

Definitely hard to repeat ... but I did see it happen once in the 15 tests I just did.

I don't see anything obvious in the code at the present moment. Will move this post to the bug-reports area for further inspection later.

It's not something to be alarmed about in terms of site security or data-integrity, and it's not an indicator of any specific upgrade-failure as far as i can tell.
