    Default Flash in banners...

    I would like to install a flash banners at the bottom of my store (as a wide banner) and perhaps even in the sidebox banner boxes...

    I have been playing about with a .swf image that someone made for me. I have set it up in the Banner Manager, as I have done for other gifs of jpgs, but all I get is the Banner URL that the image is set to go to if someone were to click on the image...

    Could anyone get me up to speed on this?

    Thanks!

    paste all the HTML for running the flash object into the HTML field in the banner manager. This would include all the <EMBED> and <OBJECT> etc code

    Hello,

    I have done so but all I get is a blank white box when it appears...

    Here is the code I used.

    *******
    <OBJECT classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"
    WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="80" id="sr_banner2" ALIGN="">
    <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="sr_banner2.swf"> <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high>
    <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FFFFFF> <EMBED src="sr_banner2.swf" quality=high bg##############################
    WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="80" NAME="sr_banner2" ALIGN=""
    TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
    </EMBED>
    </OBJECT>

    *******

    I have tried it in both FireFox and Safari... i have been to the Adobe Flash browser test page and Flash is working...

    I wonder what the problem could be... Perhaps a size problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    What is the full path to the sr_banner2.swf file on your server?
    If you're giving no path in your HTML, then it's looking for it in the root of your webspace ...

    Thank you for your quick response... You gave me the right idea...

    I had the path as /banners/sr_banner2.swf

    I always get messed up with the paths... So first I got it to work by typing in the full URL: http://store.globalpeace.jp/images/b...sr_banner2.swf

    Then I deleted things till I got to /images/banners/sr_banner2.swf, which is what I have it as now...

    I have one related question...

    The flash movie that I have installed is not clickable, i.e., It does not link to another page when mousing over it..

    I have tried to find a way to make flash movies clickable, i.e., create a link for the whole image so someone can click on it and they will be taken to another page... but I can’t find a way to do it... Is there a way for me to add some code into the HTML or does it have to built in from the beginning? If it does I will contact the person who made it and try to get him to include that feature...

    Hiya, the clickable bit gets written into flash file, get your mate to add the url and send you a new .swf file.

    I've just include that on sidebox banner, but when flash start, the other boxes above don''t show and the footer disappear. Why this?
