Setting permission after installing. Help needed

Hello everyone.
Im new to zen cart , php , etc.
I have installed zen cart with success on server.
when i view my pages, i get this warning displayed on top saying that " IM able to write in configure.php and i have to set that to 644 or 444..
well , i can set it to 644 but that still remains there, but I CAN NOT set it to 444. no matter what i do it keeps turning back to 644.

I belive i need to set the correct permission to folder ( Includes) first before .
can someone please help me out in step by step , on what permission i should apply to Includes folder , subfolders, and etc???
can someone please tell me which area of this cart system needs to me secured by assigning permissions.

Some hosting sites do not give you full control of your site via your FTP software ... or your FTP software may not be able to make the change ...

Go to your website's Control Panel and you should be able to change the permissions there to 444 ...

I have done that too . but Using online file manager , also faild to change the premission on configure.php..

any other suggestion ??

oK. here how access premission is set for Includes folder

read write exc set for USER , GROUP, OTHER..

this is how it was set inorder to install zen cart.

configure.php is set this way

Read Write Exc

user R W

Group R

OTHER R

644
i can not remove Write from User :(

You will need to speak to your hosting site to see why you do not have control over your own site ...

This can become very aggrevating in the future ...

If they have to set the permissions for you ... you will always have to wait for them everytime you need to make changes ... and that could take forever ... :eek:

I did that , they fix the premission problme with my site and they assured me if i have to reinstall zen cart , i don;t have to contact them each time to set the permission .. so soo far soo good..

I was wondring where i can find more info on securing zen cart ?
