    Can I Install on a subdomain ?

I was wandering if I can install ZEN CART on one of my subdomains?

If so is there anything different in the installation proccess then installing to a domain?

I do it for clients all the time for demo purposes, have never had an issue - just the same as any other install.

While I, personally, do not have subdomain install issues with my hosting guru ...

I do know that some hosting sites just do not work right with subdomains and you are better off working on a subdirectory install ...

Either it goes real smooth ... and you know you can do this without a problem ...

Or, it goes all bad ... and you may wish to try the subdirectory instead ...

Good news ... one or the other does work ...

If you have problems with a normal subdomain then you may also have the option of setting up a User (email address) with their own subdomain. So if you set up a User called' shop' and elect to give it a subdomain, then it's available at http://shop.yourdomain.com but the files are in a folder called 'shop' at http://www.yourdomain.com/shop

Re: Can I Install Zen Cart on subdomain ?

Hi all. I tried installing ZenCart on my webhost (it's on a subdomain) for demo purposes but after installing all the files, I get nothing on the site. I double checked everything and all the files are there, it's judt that nothing is showing up. I tried accessing the /admin page and it suggest running the installer (which is expectd coz I havent installed it yet), but when I run the installer, nothing happens, not even a single image appears.

Here's the url if you want to take a look:

Interesting - I get a black page with a fall-ish looking frame in the middle and some very hard to read text on this page.

I don't think that zen is playing too well with that subdomain and then a folder - it definitely isn't calling the right index file.

Sorry. I have no idea how to fix this. I haven't ever had a problem on subdomains.

    Hi, the was fast, hehehe...

The fall-ish thing you saw was something like a default page if the url or content is missing or not working well.

Anyone else got an idea? It's my first install you know..
