Merge two zencart sites into one:how?

I have two zencart sites which both work fine.

I have been asked to create a third site which contains all of the products contained in the otehr two sites. Now I know this should be simple (!) after all all I need to do is get the product data from bothe existing sites and feed it into the database for the new site... right?

Well my SQL is weak at best but I tried it anyway (after making backups of everything): no luck

Then I hit on the bright idea of installing easy populate on all sites and transferring the data that way: no luck

Can anyone help?

This one of the solutions that I would have made, but "no luck" is not very descriptive. Can you provide more detail as to why you have not been successful at doing this?

One method is to take all the products_id and categories_id in one database and raise them by 4000 or whatever number would assure no cross matches to the other database ...

Then the tables can be merged ...

WARNING: to do this, first be sure you know what tables you are working with ... next, backup both the 1st and 2nd database ... copy the database you are adjusting to another database and make the adjustments to it ... then copy the 1st database to a 4th database before merging in the 3rd database products and categories ...

NOTE: you can really make a mess if you are not careful on this one but it can be done ...

Sorry- no luck was probably a bit on the sparse side as far as descriptions go.
I have solved the problem....
I found a tutorial here http://www.everymanhosting.com/forum...d122ddc0190861 and copied over the appropriate tables. It wasnt perfect as there were duplicate categoriesIDs which didnt get copied accross and I then had to add them in the good old fashioned - through admin.

Then a cross check found 7 or so products missing which I was happy to manually add in

Then FTP all the images form the two old istes to the new site - and it was done.

That might not be very clear either but hey i suprised myself at being able to do it. Now could I do it again......?
