So far so good, and i like it.

I am wondering if the Zen Cart allows for additions such as the ability to select different colors and sizes. The cart i'm using is a module for the Xoops CMS. I use Xoops for any site that needs a database and for any site that needs to be updated a lot over a period of days. I love it!!! lol

Anyway, Zen Cart is the only one i have been able to install and have work right off the bat. I have made minor adjustments already. I have been browsing the help files from this site, but haven't come across what i need.

I know you can use templates for it, i'm not sure if i want to design one for it or not. There's just a few things i need to accomplish with it .

I am also trying to modify the main cart page. On install, the main page read's:

Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution.
Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?
This is the main define statement for the page for english when no template defined file exists. It is located in: /includes/languages/english/index.php
Define your main Index page copy here.

I have been able to change most of the main page. All except what is listed above. I can't seem to find the section to change that to get it off there. Any idea's?

Zen Cart is completely customizable in appearance. Most color and size modifications can be made in your template's css stylesheets.

Read the FAQ's https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php
They detail a lot of information there for getting your Zen Cart store configured.

Make sure you understand Template Override system before making too many file edits. Understanding this system will save you a lot of work with furture ZC software updates. Also affects modfications to text such as the text you are inquiring about (also found in the FAQ's).

The ability to select colors / sizes / etc. is in the attributes controller - a built in function of zen.

To remove the "Congrats...." you need to look at includes/languages/english/index.php

To change the "Would you like to...." it's includes/languages/english/english.php

And to change the rest of that page - the text itself is in the file it references in that statement (includes/languages/english/html_includes )

since this subject has been covered many times already.

What TinaS suggests is not part of the overrides but core files. Meaning, all your personal settings will reset, on the next each upgrades, you will loose all added / modified infos you did over the language core files.

Okay. Thanx to everyone for thier fast replies. I have gone through some of the FAQ. just not all of it yet.

One other question... Is there a full download version available of the wiki in a manual format that i could print out?

I believe the online wiki manual was already long enough to do, by the DEV team, that would definitely be the solution on this one.

In addition, you can always follow some posted FAQs, posted by one of the DEV team, which is in PDF format. This one would be more print-version friendly if you wish.
