Adding fields to contact form???

I know this has been asked many times but I cannot find any clear or concise instructions on how to add new fields to the contact form.

Would someone be so kind as to provide a newbie step by step instructions?

This might be overkill, but the concept is explained fairly well in this example:

(Note: the post was designed for Zen Cart versions prior to v1.3 ... so there will be differences in some of the files ... but the concept hasn't changed.)

Thanks for the quick reply Doc!

I have spent many hours working on this and managed to get to the point where the new "phone" field showed up on the contact form but the phone number entered was not passed to the email.

I think what I really need is step by step instructions on what files to edit and what code to add.

Can anyone help???
