I tried to search for this but I can not seem to find any up to date information.

I am looking into setting up a cart of a group of artisans. Some members of our group would be stocking "popular" items with the potential of overselling (i.e. there might be 40 people trying to get the same item) a one of a kind item.

I read a message from 2005 but didn't seem to come out heads or tails with a solution to the problem. Just curious if the newest version of zen cart has a fix for this?

On the sale of Products ... 27 people can add to cart ... but only 1 will win on the final checkout ...

Providing there is not a millisecond submit by all 27 for a payment module to finalize the order ...

Meaning ... the moment the final qty of the product is removed from stock, no one else can get it and will be returned to the shopping_cart and told:

1 removed from available products

2 out of stock - but may checkout depending on Stock settings

3 out of stock - and may not checkout depending on Stock settings
