I managed to make the download section work ... sort of. When I was testing it, the download link worked but somewhere in the middle an error occured and the download process stopped. The file size was only 2.5 MB. Has anyone experienced this kind of problem?

You could also try Admin->Configuration->Attribute Settings->Download by Streaming ... and set it to true.

There is not a resume on the downloads with Zen Cart ...
Either it works or it doesn't ...
Speak to your host about increasing it settings related to downloads for the size of your files ...Linda McGrath
