Shipping only to the CONUS

I hate to do this but the forums don't have anything that explains this and the wiki docs are greek to me on the subject:

- Shipping and sales only to the Continental USA.

I only sell to the continental US and need to get my zones, (I think.), set up for this. I've looked at the settings and all localizations and think I have set up the California tax only section correctly but would hate to have someone from another country order something, and get taxed, just to have me send back the monies.

Should I delete all of the other countries and go from there?

Is this how I make it exclusively CONUS?

I read another thread about making a new category called CONUS but wonder about the removal of the other countries and areas.


Sorry to trouble you but since this was covered only partially in the other thread I thought this could be a fix all for all other newbies like myself.

Just UPS and PayPal for this store.

Zones are confusing in that you can build a Zone for Taxes with Tax rates ... and you can build a Zone for Location ... and you can build a Zone that is a combination ...

You can build a Zone called CONUSA, or call it Wilbur for that matter ... and add only the 48 states plus DC to it ...

Then use that to control your Shipping and Payment modules ...

The Zone that you use for Tax is a different Zone ...

I don't understand your statement.

1. Go to Admin->Localization/Taxes->Zones Defintions
2. Click on your new CONUSA zone.
3. Click on it again, or click Details
4. Insert each of the states by clicking the Insert button and filling in the details. 50 times should be enough to make the process familiar

5. Now edit your active shipping modules and set them to this CONUSA zone
