PayPal: Data does not match input character set...

Hello,

In the last 24 hours, 2 customers have tried to buy products on my bilingual store (English & Japanese) but in the last step, when the store redirects to the PayPal site they get the following message:

Data does not match input character set or default encoding. For more information, please contact the merchant.

Both were using Japanese as their main languages. One was using windows, one a Mac using Firefox and then Safari... I saw the problem myself as it was a friend who wanted to do the purchase and I visited them to see for myself.

I just tried using Japanese with a Mac using Safari and FireFox and there were no problems...

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the problem? Any testing suggestions?
