Can zen-cart handle my products?

In my research of shopping carts, zen-cart seems to be coming out on top. I really like how customizable it is. That will work perfect for the site I'm building.

I had a question about our products, and whether or not zen-cart will be able to handle how we sell them. We sell salad dressing, and there are three different flavors. We want the user to only be able to buy either a 4,6, or 12 pack. The can mix and match however they want, i.e. 2 ranch, 1 italian, and 1 Italian Lite, or 3 Lite and 3 Ranch.

Will zen-cart be able to handle this? Can it do it without having to make a different product for each possible combination? Can anyone offer any advice? This is the last thing I need to figure out before I go ahead and install this bad boy.

there is probably a better way to do it, but i would imagine you could create a product for each pack and then they could choose the types they want as an attribute.

im sure someone that knows more and has done more carts can tell you better than i :)

So you mean create a product for a 4 pack, a product for a 6 pack, and a product for a 12 pack, and then the user chooses which flavors as an attribute? What exactly do you mean my attribute? How does a shopping cart incorporate attributes?

Anyone else have any ideas?

yes that is what i mean.

you set the attrubuties in the admin control. you can set up each flavor in a dropdown for people to choose.

ill see if i can find an example site of something like that....
