This isn't really "remote installation". Once the database is created on your server, all Zen Cart does is create tables, insert/remove records, etc... normal activity stuff.
Who is your host?
What did you enter for the Database Server setting? Typically this would be "localhost" ... but some hosting companies have the database server on a separate computer and thus an alternate address is needed. Sometimes it's an IP address like 123.55.22.134 etc.
