Special category layout different

I have categories that I created under catalog/categories. Then I have these special categories my developer added, i.e., FEATURE PRODUCTS, NEW PRODUCTS, that seem to pick out random newly added items. However, the layouts are a little messed up. For example, I was able to turn off the FEATURE PRODUCT "date item added" but now I have the price showing up as "TEXT_PRICE" and then the price. I turned off price but it still shows up. Also, I don't see where to change the "HEADING_TITLE" at the top of the FEATURE PRODUCT page??

the "TEXT_PRICE" showing is an error and a result of malformed code changes that you or someone has done in editing a file.

To change the titles of any heading...use the admin > tools > developers tools > and enter the text string in the lowestr left box...select from the dropdown catalog files and search.. This will tell you in what files this text is located and you can edit the file and save to you override folder.

Im using 1.3.8

I have a quick question regarding the php file for "specials.php" page. PRevious posts stated that to have an image in the header, you would replace that section with the URL of the image.

However, when i opened the file for this page, all I see is

"define('NAVBAR_TITLE', 'Specials');"

There is no
define('HEADING_TITLE', ''); like pages such as products_new.php.

I tried to add that line in the specials.php file.. but that didn't do anytthing.... im not ver knowledgeable in this field so i may be doing something that is not necessary.

How can I add an image without changing what you see in the navigation tab?

If you mean the Specials sidebox, check in english.php for BOX_HEADING_SPECIALS

thanks for your reply! I wasn't sure about creating a new thread because I didnt want to create unnecessary threads if questions can be answers in threads that talk about similar issues. But I will take your suggestion!
